Nel buco

Nel buco allows us to discover the poetics of author Maria Morganti through a foray into another medium: a common practice for Maria Morganti, who often uses modeling clay, wax pastels, and photography to analyze the ways in which time layers itself, and colors and forms blend, creating new relationships and narratives. In this case, the artist used pure pigment, with which she filled a hole in the floor. Every time a color is added, our perception of that space changes. It is a sort of archaeological excavation, a slow process that, gesture by gesture, helps us better understand the nature of a place. Thus, page by page, this little book invites us to discover color – its strength, its power to transform the things around us – but also the importance of lingering on a detail, because even a single detail can contain a world.
