New York City Babe

Antonio Rovaldi

New York City Babe is a pictorial guide to all the must-see sights in New York – such as squirrels, forks, footprints, graffiti, leaves, and even bat-shaped umbrellas – but it can also be used anywhere else in the world, as long as you’re walking with a child. This book is dedicated to New York, to the music of its streets, its sidewalks, and the rhythm of its walks.

Antonio Rovaldi (Parma, 1975) is an artist who lives between Milan and New York. His work explores the perception of landscape and distance, and his artistic practice is based on walking or cycling long distances. He works primarily with photography, video, sculpture, and drawing. After cycling around the perimeter of the Italian peninsula photographing the horizon (Orizzonte in Italia, 2011–2015), he is now walking around New York’s five boroughs to document the city’s outskirts.
